Who we are and the short version
SellerControl Point is run by Gill Global Retail Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16671297), registered office 5 Hillcrest Close, London Road, Loughton, Milton Keynes, MK5 8BJ, England. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. Contact us at [email protected].
In short:
- We use your data only to run SellerControl Point for you.
- We read your Amazon data only after you authorise us, and only to show you your own figures and, if you choose, update your own prices.
- We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
- Your data is stored in London and encrypted in transit and at rest.
- You can disconnect Amazon, ask for a copy of your data or ask us to delete it at any time.
Information we collect
We collect four kinds of information: your account details, the Amazon data you authorise us to read, the data you add yourself, and basic technical data.
| Type | What it includes | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | Your name, business name, email address, and your password stored only as a secure hash | You, when you sign up |
| Amazon Information | Orders, settlements, fees, refunds, reimbursements, FBA inventory, inbound shipments, customer returns, removal orders, prices and competitor offers for your products, account health metrics, your seller ID and marketplace | Amazon, through the Selling Partner API, after you authorise SellerControl Point |
| Data you add | Supplier costs and invoices, fixed costs, VAT and profit settings, goals, repricing rules | You, in the app |
| Technical data | IP address, browser type, login times, and a record of important actions in your account (such as logins, settings changes and price changes) | Your device, when you use the app or this website |
We do not request or store the names, addresses or contact details of Amazon’s buyers. We also store an encrypted access key that Amazon issues when you connect your account; we never see your Amazon password. If you email us, we keep your message and email address to answer you.
How we use your information
We use your information only to provide SellerControl Point to you, keep it secure and meet our legal obligations.
| Purpose | Legal basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Creating and running your account, logging you in, password resets | Contract with you |
| Syncing your Amazon data and showing your profit, orders, inventory, returns, reimbursement leads, account health and pricing | Contract with you |
| Updating your own listing prices, only if you switch on automatic repricing | Contract with you |
| Sending service emails (password resets, security alerts, important changes) and answering your messages | Contract with you |
| Keeping the service secure, preventing abuse and fixing faults, including audit logs and login rate limits | Our legitimate interest in running a secure service |
| Keeping business and tax records, and responding to lawful requests | Legal obligation |
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. We will ask for your consent before sending marketing emails.
Your Amazon Information
We access your Amazon Information only through Amazon’s Selling Partner API, only after you authorise us, and only to provide SellerControl Point to you.
- Your data only. Each customer sees only their own Amazon Information. It is kept separate at the database level.
- Limited use. We do not use your Amazon Information to compete with you, to build profiles of Amazon sellers or buyers, or for any purpose other than the features you use.
- Never sold. We do not sell, rent or trade your Amazon Information, or share it except as described below.
- Price changes only with your say-so. SellerControl Point changes your listing prices only if you switch on automatic repricing for specific products, and only within the minimum and maximum prices you set. Every change is logged in your account.
- You can disconnect at any time, in the app’s Settings or in Seller Central under Apps and Services, Manage Your Apps. Syncing then stops immediately.
Our use of Amazon Information follows Amazon’s Solution Provider Agreement, Acceptable Use Policy and Data Protection Policy.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers below, who process it on our instructions under data processing terms, and never for their own purposes.
| Provider | What they do | Data involved | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| DigitalOcean | Hosts this website, the app and its database | All data held in the app; website visitors’ IP addresses in server logs | London, United Kingdom |
| Anthropic | Powers the optional AI review, only when you click it | A summary of your own sales and profit figures; no buyer data | United States |
| Google Fonts | Supplies the typeface the app displays | Your IP address and browser details | United States |
| Email delivery provider | Sends service emails such as password resets | Your name and email address | We will name the provider and its location here before we start using one |
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to a buyer of our business, who would be bound by this policy.
International transfers. Where a provider handles data outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or the UK–US data bridge where the provider is certified.
Security
We protect your information with technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk:
- All connections use HTTPS, and the connection to our database is encrypted.
- Data is stored in an encrypted, access-restricted database that only our app can reach.
- The Amazon access key issued when you connect is encrypted with AES-256 before it is stored.
- Passwords are stored only as salted, slow hashes; we cannot read them.
- Each customer’s data is separated inside the database itself, so one customer cannot see another’s.
- Logins are rate-limited, repeated wrong passwords lock an account for 15 minutes, and important account actions are logged.
- Access to our systems is limited to people who need it, protected by two-step verification.
- We have an incident response plan, and will tell you and the relevant authorities promptly if a breach affects your data.
No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use elsewhere.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open, and delete it within 30 days of your account closing or your request.
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Account details, Amazon Information and data you add | While your account is open; deleted within 30 days after you close your account or ask us to delete it |
| Your Amazon access key | Deleted as soon as you disconnect Amazon |
| Login sessions | Up to 30 days of inactivity |
| Security and audit logs | Up to 12 months |
| Database backups | Overwritten within 7 days |
| Emails you send us | Up to 2 years after your last message, unless needed for a longer legal reason |
| Billing and tax records, once payments launch | 6 years, as UK tax law requires |
To close your account or have your data deleted, email [email protected] from the address on your account. After deletion, your data remains only in backups until they are overwritten.
Cookies and local storage
The app uses one essential cookie and this website uses none; both store small display preferences on your device. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. See our cookie policy for the full list.

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your personal information
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your information

- send your information to you or another provider in a common format
Email [email protected] from the address on your account. We will reply within one month and will not charge a fee in most cases.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
